Lifting from the seabed without a crane.

What it is

Recovering anything from the seabed today means a vessel on station and a crane or a winch, which is why small jobs get deferred and bundled into campaigns that may never come.

Buoyball is a free-flooding body that stays upright by its own geometry rather than by control systems, and changes depth by moving water in and out of a tank carried low in the hull. It descends under its own weight, takes a payload, and rises again — no crane, no tether, no thrusters.

What we are looking for

Research partners, engineering review, and operators willing to tell us what we have got wrong. We are early, we know it, and we would rather find the problems on a bench than at depth.
